ADDISON IS HERE!!!!

Addison is HERE!!! On July 22nd, I got up and got ready to head up to school to meet my interim for this semester. I was about to leave the house around 9:15 when my water broke. I called my sister in denial and told her that it could not possibly be my water because Addison is not supposed to be here until August 10, and I am not ready...and more importantly- her dresser that was on order was not here yet!!! After totally losing it, Kerstin and Audrey threw some clothes on and headed to come get me. We met mom at the hospital and James got there a little later. They said that I was in labor. After 12 hours of labor, and being poked 4 times to get an epidural in- the nurse came in and said that they were going to start prepping me for a c-section. This was news to us, but we later learned that Addison had not dropped so a c-section was are only option. An hour later, Addison was here!!! She weighed 8 lbs and 11.5 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. James and I are still debating whether or not they got the due date wrong:) We feel very blessed that Addison is here (although her dresser is STILL NOT:)), and more importantly that she is healthy.

Addison does not like to have her clothes off, and refused to look at her daddy:)

This picture does not do her first bath justice. She normally is SCREAMING at the top of her lungs the entire time.

We had several visitors that came to see Addison the 4 days we were at the hospital. One that was always appreciated was Papa who would always show up with ice-cream!!!

My sister-in-law Robyne, and nieces Hailey and Lauren. Also, my mom. My mom was the biggest trooper ever!!! She was there throughout everything and still continues to be the biggest help to me!

We can always count on Justin to get Addison to fall asleep.

Normally, if daddy takes a nap- Addison is right there with him. Something about her daddy's arms that make her fall right to sleep (that is unless it is time for her to go to sleep at 3 in the morning:)).

Addison on her ride home.

We are very lucky that she loves her cute swing.

This is a better picture of what bath-time at home normally looks like. This was her first bath at the house.

Audrey was another frequent visitor at the hospital. She loves holding Addison and is even a pro at getting the pacifier in her mouth as soon as she starts crying:).

This picture is more recent. Addison is not playing on her play mat yet, but she does love laying on it and looking around at the animals and fun colors.

She is already a daddy's-girl.

This was her first Sunday at church.

Addison loves playing with her hands. She tries so hard to get her thumb in her mouth, and sometimes she actually gets it there. Unfortunately, she normally pokes herself in the eye with her other fingers- which makes her VERY mad:)

Friends, Family, and Gifts

On Saturday, July 18, my sister and sister-in-law (Kerstin and Robyne) threw me the best baby shower EVER! They are both so creative and talented, and I am so lucky to have the both of them. Addison's baby shower had great food, awesome company, and fun games. It's a good thing that we had the shower on the 18th of July, because Addison decided to come early!! She was here on the 22nd. I feel very blessed to have such amazing friends and family.

The party planners, Kerstin and Robyne.

This was the gift table. I could not believe all the great things that we got!!! We got some cute clothes, toys, sleeper, bath stuff, and much more!

A view of half the shower. It was a lot of fun to have everyone together.

For the first game, everyone had to guess-timate how big they thought my stomach was. Natalie (my little sisters) string could wrap around me 5 times. I am going to remember that when she gets married and has a baby:).

Myself (and Addison), older sister Kerstin, and younger sister Natalie. I did not realize how big I really was until seeing these pictures!!!

My mom and I. I really have the most amazing mom in the entire world. I just hope that I can be 1/2 the mom she is to me to my little girl.

Meghan, one of my best friends from college, came in town for my shower. I am so grateful that she came. I put her to work helping me get everything ready for Addison. Good thing she was there! She left on Tuesday to go home, and I went into labor on Wednesday.
